Professional Book Design Services

Your book deserves to shine!
What Book Design Really Means . . .
Think of me as a baker. You bring me all the raw ingredients:
- Your carefully crafted, professionally edited manuscript
- Beautiful illustrations from your artist
- Your vision for what the book should feel like
I take these elements and blend them together into a finished book that's:
- Professionally formatted for print and digital
- Visually balanced and easy to read
- Consistent with industry standards
My Four-Part design process
Submit your project details through the quote form below, and I’ll reply with a personalized quote for you. I'll also give you the option to schedule a brief 15-30 minute discovery call to discuss your vision.
Once you accept the quote, I'll send a contract and invoice for your 25% deposit. You'll also receive custom templates showing the exact dimensions your illustrator needs (trim size, bleed, margins, safe areas).
Once illustrations are finalized and you’ve provided everything I need for the entire layout, I'll design your cover title with a few font options that complement your story and art. This decision guides the interior typography for a cohesive look throughout your book.
With the title treatment established, I'll design your complete book interior, integrating all illustrations and text into a polished, professional layout.
You'll have two rounds of revisions included to ensure every page is exactly right. Additional revisions beyond these are available for an additional fee.
After the final payment is received, I'll provide all print-ready files for your selected printer(s) and formats (print and/or ebook). Each additional format is priced separately.
Why hire a professional designer?
Many illustrators offer to design your book as part of their package. While they claim to do both well, few actually can. Design and illustration are distinct skills.
Just as I hire illustrators for my own books because that is not my specialty, I suggest you hire an illustrator for the art and a designer for the layout and formatting.
A professional designer ensures:
Industry Standards
Visual Heirarchy
Technical Accuracy
Professional Polish
